My neighbor asked me to clean a bear baculum he has but that is something I've never done. how would I go about it. I do have a decent sized colony of dermestid beetles. Thanks for your help or any tips you may have.

Sea Wolf Well-Known Member

Bugs will clean it just fine. I have also simmered them carefully with success.

Muskrat24 Member

Ok so just basically what you would do with a skull bug them, degrease and then whiten correct? Thanks again for replying.

MR.Ed New Member

I understand. I was just making a smart comment. It seems like alot of the stuff we over think.

Da Greek Yooper New Member

It takes a couple minutes. You can degrease and whiten or leave it as is. It isn't really greasey and will be pretty white after drying.

jonscut Member

Yooper you've sound like you've had some good luck with the grease on the penis bones. I've had to degrease every one that I've ever done. Good call on the bar games in California you'd get slapped and then sued for violating their mouths.
