Is it possible to use mushroom vents as part of the fixed ventilation calculation to meet the BSS requirements given the area that the manual says you need based on output of your appliances?
madcat
I have a piece of pipe over the thread on mine which prevents it from fully closing and thus making it part of the ventilation of the back cabin. I don't know if the rules are the same for all boats because historic boats have some exemptions due to their age.
Patrick Vale
Thanks madcat - this is a 2004 build so unlikely to get any 'historic' exemptions - though it's worth an ask ;D

My mushroom vents don't close fully, and count as high level ventilation (2004 boat also.) It is worth making them so that they can't be unscrewed from above, so that they can't be stolen for scrap.
springy
1 Yes mushroom vents count - many boats (mine included) only have mushrooms for high level vent.
