Oh, Boy! Something I never thought about! My new 2019 F250 SD FX4 Power Stroke truck bed is 6" taller (deeper?) than my old 2003 SD 4X4 and now will not fit under the overhang on my 5th wheel trailer! This means I have to flip my axles on the trailer and add a lift kit to boot!

Heathmc

You should be able to adjust your pin box down and hitch up enough to clear it. The bed walls are certainly higher but I'd avoid having to flip the axles if possible.

You are right! I am just planning ahead in case my hopes I have in my new hitch evaporate.

Good luck! I hope all the extra height doesn't have you at a bad angle...

I've complained about this issue since the 2004 F150 went with a deeper bed. I still can't find any decent reason they thought that was a good idea. It's not just this problem with fifth wheels, it makes reaching in harder and I'm not short. I can't imagine how bad it is for someone just a couple of inches shorter.

Pops91710 Founding Member

There's no easy great solution that doesn't cost a lot of money without compromises like the trailer angle mentioned.
