I am 51 Years old , had a Hysterectomy and i started with Estradiol 2mg tablets in 2019 for Menopause . Good thing = helped me with mood swings , anxiety and hot flashes . BAD THING = WEIGHT GAIN . I am 5'2 my normal weight was 155 i said "was" because i gained 45 pounds ! in 2 years ..did notice swelling in the belly too.

Estradiol was suggested by nurse practitioner after having recurring bacterial vaginosis. My dose was .01. Right away vaginal tissue felt more comfortable. After 3 weeks I developed sudden, unusual anxiety. Then several incidents of being lightheaded. Stopped using it in the 4th week. It's been 1 and a half weeks since I stopped.

Back in 2010 (47 yoa) dr put me on birth control for hot flashes. Within 5 years I lost a third of my hair. In 2015 I was put on Estrodial pills. They helped but had to keep increasing dose. Now new dr has me on Dotti patch which says it is 1.253 mg per patch. I leave it on for 4 days and then get a new one.

I had a total hysterectomy in 2015, I kept my ovaries. My GYN advised my ovaries will stop working around 3 years from my hysterectomy. I was put on Estradiol pill in 2017, and disliked the side effects, so I didn't take anything since 2017.

Been on estradiol for a few years, it works well for dryness. And the price is better then extract . The only problem is it never last 3 months my prescription say 1/2 gram 3 times a week. If I take it as prescribed it only last 9 weeks then I have to wait to refill. I can only get 3 months if I use it twice a week... what’s the problem??
