GPD releases sad news

Early in the evening of March 16, 2017, officers of the Greenwich Police Department returned to the area surrounding Carry Road and continued to search for a missing 61 year old local resident. At approximately 6 PM our officers located a body under the ice along the eastern shoreline of the Mianus River.

Fatal Hit and Run Near GHS Last Night

On Sunday night, April 17, at about 11 PM a 43 year old Greenwich man was struck and killed by a hit and run driver on East Putnam Avenue by Hillside Road. The man’s identity is being withheld at this time pending notification of his family.

GPD Seeks Help in Taxi Robbery Attempt

A local taxi driver was physically assaulted and nearly robbed on Morgan Ave in Byram last night.

Coffee with a Cop

GPD Silver Shield President Tim Hilderbrand announced that the first “Coffee with a Cop” event will be October 18th from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at Upper Crust Bagels in Old Greenwich.

GPD Officer of the Month

On 8/9/2015, the Public Safety Dispatch Center received a report of an unresponsive female down in the water near the flagpole at Todd’s Point. A civilian that was near the female when she collapsed called out for help and began to pull her out of the water and onto the beach.

Summer House Parties

GREENWICH CT: This time of year is busy for family with teens. This is the season for graduation parties. House parties are the primary source by which youth obtain alcohol. National surveys have found that the vast majority of high school teens report obtaining alcohol at their home with or without their parent’s permission.

May Officers of the Month

On May 23, 2015 Master Patrol Officer JD Smith was dispatched on the report of a subject that had his arm trapped within the compactor of a garbage truck. Sergeant John Slusarz, who was off-duty at the time, heard the call and also responded.
