The Student Activities Center houses a gymnasium which hosts UCLA Athletics teams and serves as event space for Intramural Sports and student events. UCLA Recreation manages six aquatic facilities throughout the campus and strives to meet the needs of all its participants by offering a variety of programs and services. An aquatic lift is available at all pools for swimmers who may need additional assistance entering and exiting the pools.

Wooden
Located on-campus, across from the Bruin Bear, this is the main gym on campus. In addition to offering several basketball, badminton, volleyball, and handball/racquetball courts, Wooden includes a large Gymnastics Gymnasium.
Bfit
Located on the Hill, under BPlate, this is a smaller gym that is more tailored to people new to working out or who don’t want to walk down to Wooden. They do offer a full range of equipment including cardio, free weights, and machines. It can be crowded during the evening and on weekends. There are day-use lockers that are free to use as well.
Other fitness Options
There are also other recreation facilities including: Drake Stadium (track with stairs), Hitch Basketball Courts (outdoor courts near Hitch Suites), the Intramural (IM) Field, the Student Activities Center (indoor gymnasium w/ basketball court), Sunset Rec (outdoor rec area w/ two pools and an open grass/volleyball area on the hill).
Etiquette
Wipe down your equipment! This is standard at every gym but somehow UCLA students can forget.
General Tips
Don’t feel intimidated! No one really cares about other people in the gym. Just go in, do your best, and find ways to improve from last time (i.e. more reps, more weight, faster, etc.)

Arts and Culture
There are myriad ways to get involved in arts and culture on campus, as a spectator and as a creator. Students are DJs for Campus Radio, they’re writers and editors at the Daily Bruin, and they enjoy films together at Melnitz Movies, a student-run repertory cinema program.
Volunteering
Through the UCLA Volunteer Center, Bruins embody one of UCLA’s core values: service. Volunteer Day event kicks off the academic year with more than 5,000 Bruins serving at sites across Los Angeles.
UCLA Students
All currently enrolled UCLA students (undergraduate, graduate, Anderson, Law and Dental) who pay student service fees toward Recreation, will automatically obtain winter quarter membership beginning December 10, 2021. No membership registration is required.
UCLA Faculty & Staff
Current UCLA faculty and staff are eligible to purchase Rec Membership for access to JWC, KREC, Drake Stadium, Pools, Marina Aquatic Center, SCRC Lawn and Tennis Court access.
UCLA Emeriti & Retirees
Current UCLA Emeriti/Retirees are eligible to purchase Rec Membership for access to JWC, KREC, Drake Stadium, Pools, Marina Aquatic Center, SCRC Lawn and Tennis Court access.
Household Adult Memberships
Household adults can purchase membership and get access to the same facility Bookings as the primary Recreation member. The affiliated member must have an active student membership or Recreation membership for their household adult to be eligible. Proof of matching mailing address is required.
Locker Rentals
Locker Rental Requests are available by quarter. Lockers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are not guaranteed. An active Recreation membership is required to purchase a locker rental.

The Sales & Service Cashiering Office located on the 1st floor of the John Wooden Center remains closed until further notice.
Cafeteria
The Edward D. and Anna Mitchell Family Foundation Dining Commons offers a diverse selection of meals in an inviting indoor or outdoor setting. The Dining Commons is located on Level 1 and is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Maddie's Room (Surgical Waiting Room)
Maddie's Room is a comfortable surgical waiting area located on the first floor near the eastside Information Desk. A volunteer from the Recovery Room will call the surgical waiting area to notify the visitor when the patient has arrived in the Recovery Room.
Garden of Peace
The Garden of Peace offers a tranquil outdoor retreat for patients and their families to enjoy.
UCLA Tiverton House
Tiverton House is a guest hotel designed to meet the needs of patients and families. Tiverton House offers comfortable accommodations, complimentary continental breakfast, laundry facilities, an exercise room, a children's playroom, a community kitchen and more.
