Is diesel fuel line different than gas fuel line?
Looks like all the same. Application: Designed for use with gasoline, methanol, ethanol, and diesel fuel in marine applications such as fuel filler neck, fuel tank vent and exhaust hose.
Does diesel degrade rubber?
Diesel does damages rubber. Diesel fuel may cause stripping of certain types of rubber hose, gradually perforating the fuel hose. Thus, it is strongly advised to make sure if the fuel hose to be installed is rated for diesel.
How much pressure is in a diesel fuel line?
Both GDI and CRD systems use a high-pressure pump, but the pressures are very different—3000 psi for GDI and up to 28,000 psi for a CRD system.
What is the best material for fuel hose?
PTFEThe best solution is a material called PTFE. That stands for polytetrafluoroethylene—a plastic material that is best known as Teflon in one specific variation. This material is impervious to the degenerative effects of fuel that also creates a vapor barrier so fuel vapors cannot leak past.

Diesel Fuel Piping. Copper lines should not be used because fuel polymerizes (thickens) in copper tubing during long periods of disuse and can clog fuel injectors. Also, copper lines are less rugged than black iron, and thus more susceptible to damage.
Can fuel vapor hose be used for fuel line?
Standard fuel line is capable of supporting gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, ethanol, and oil. Fuel vapor hose is labeled as such, if it does not say it is safe for fuel, DO NOT use it for fuel.
Does diesel fuel eat plastic?
Unfortunately, you can't store diesel fuel in plastic drums forever. The diesel will react with the plastic polymers over time, even if the drum is produced from HDPE. The plastic will then break down, eventually leading to leakages. The diesel fuel can also start to break down and become no longer fit for purpose.

The ABYC basically mirrors its gasoline fuel standard with its diesel standard. Here’s the way fuel hose designations play out: Diesel fuel fill and vent hoses are minimally rated A2 if the hoses are routed through engine room spaces. The “A” designator is for a fire-test rating, only required in engine room spaces.
Is A2 a permeability rating?
A2 has a lower rating in terms of fuel vapor permeability when compared to the A1 rating, which is required for fuel distribution lines. The thinking here is that because fuel fill and vent hoses are not constantly filled with fuel, a less stringent permeability rating is acceptable.
What is 30R7 hose?
30R7 is what you want Al. We need to remember this about most hose material under the hoods of any car or truck. The material on the outside is generally different from the material on the inside. A classic example is the radiater hoses. They are designed to have coolant on the inside and work very well with that. Add some ening oil to the coolant and they turn soft and rupture because they can't handle the petroleum in the hose. Viton is the same inside as it is outside but thats about what I know bout hose material. Some hose material works very well with fuels going thru it but submerge it in fuel and it slowly softens and fails. Pick your hose carefully and ask questions. If the goober behind the counter can't answer your questions ask other places like here. We have thousands of viewers who have much to add. More so than the guy behind the counter. He or she is just one answer. I have searched for about 2 months for information on reassembly of a 1977 Husqvarna 125 6 speed engine. Can't find anything. Asked in the lounge and presto. I have what I needed. Ask many for help and get said help. Ask one for help and you get what that one has to offer. I get many pm requests for help. I try my best to help but if I'm not feeling like I have the best to offer I suggest coming back to this forum. There are so many members here with more knowledge than I.
Can you run 30R7 diesel?
If all you run is pure pump diesel, you can get by with 30r7 for a while. But for a few cents more per foot I recommend the Barricade, you can feel the difference when you hold it, much sturdier, especially for those problem sections like the hard line-to-lift pump piece that is under constant vibration.
