Pour Advanced DeckOver coating into a paint tray and work a roller into the tray until it is fully loaded with coating. For best results, use a ½” roller cover. TIP: For a more textured look use a Behr Premium Extra Textured Roller Cover with Advanced DeckOver Textured Coating.
Is the deckover on the covered front porch still good?
One final update- the DeckOver on the covered front porch still looked pretty good! And the concrete stairs were still in perfect condition! Those streaks you see on the stairs, below, is the ever-present pollen beast showing itself, as it is known to do in spring in Georgia.
How do you remove deckover?
The only good part about the peeling DeckOver was, it ended up being relatively easy to remove. Much of it came up just with our fingers- we could literally just pick it up and peel it off. What we couldn’t peel off with our hands, we used a scraping tool and would pry an edge off, then peel it off.

How long does Deckover need to dry before rain?
If the coating was applied and was exposed to rain 24 hours after application or later, it should be ok. However, for best results, it would be ideal to allow the coating to fully cure for 72 hours (at least) before allowing moisture to come in contact with the finish.
What happens if it rains after I paint my deck?
Stains and oils penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry. If it rains within 48 hours of applying a treatment, the water will soak into the wood, and try and displace the stain. This can cause a blotchy, flaky look, rather than a smooth, even, coat.

How do I get rid of Behr DeckOver?
On Behr's website, they explain that removal of DeckOver requires multiple application of stain and finish stripper, and will likely also require a scrubber, scraper, power washer and/or sander. I wish we had better news, and wish you the best with the project.
Can I stain over Deckover?
