can you put sealant on top of sealant

by Mr. August Jacobson Published 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago

The sealant on top will perform like expected but less long then the coating underneath. The sealant would require reapplication or removal within several months. The removal of the sealant will likely affect the coating on the bottom.

Never apply new silicone sealant over old sealant as, in most cases, the old sealant would have fallen away or split meaning that, no matter how much new sealant you apply, the leak will persist. Not to mention, applying a new sealant over old will look incredibly messy and unappealing.
