Paint the edge of the tile in a shower?

Just finished remodeling the master bath taking out the shower/tub and replacing with a shower only creating a penny tile accent wall for shampoo and soap. Generally one would purchase Schluter strip edging and have it installed when the tile is installed. At this point, you are up the creek without a paddle. I do not believe paint will hold up. You may try buying some grout stain and see if will adhere. It's like $40.00 for a tiny little bottle so a bit expensive to try if it doesn't work.
