Is it possible to cut a moulded plug to be able to extend it or thread it through a hole in the wall? Speaking in regards to a C7/Figure 8 TV power cable I can't fit through a wall hole.

Some of these cables use very fine wire. Take care that the screw in the plug's terminal is gripping the wire. Sometimes the wire is small enough to get into the gap between the side the screw and the cavity ( red ) instead of under the tip of the screw ( green ).

Probably the best way is , instead of extending the lead, open the TV up and replace the lead all the way to where it's connected to in the TV. Noting the routing of the lead within the TV. A bit beyond most people, but the neatest solution.

Never did like the idea of sticking TV's on t'wall with brackets and stuff. What happens if the geezer wants to plug in a flash into the USB socket, or stick Internet dongle in t'other USB socket and HDMI cables and stuff after its fitted? It must be awkward when its mounted on t'wall.
