you can definitely do it yourself. but im warning you now, if youve never done headwork before - it takes finesse and patience. if you have neither, you should go and get a bad head and practice on it. cut too deeply into the metal and youre done. valves can be done very easily. you can get a valve seat grinder and do those yourself and you can replace the seals too. i remember reading somewhere, a shawn post maybe, that the newer ka's dont have valve guides...
