The kids said when we strain it that it tastes like store bought unsweetened apple juice. I bought Mutsu and (organic) #2 Jonathans. Mutsus are great for eating–have not cooked with them–they are large and have a great balance of sweet/tartness. The Jonathans are large, but somewhat mealy and a disappointment.
