Stay well away from any DVD/CD player lens cleaners - they do more harm than good. The same goes for VHS/cassette deck head cleaners. Just something I herd anyway. How old is your DVD player? We have an old Philips CD player 150 from 1982, the lens has never been touched, and still plays fine without skipping. The sound quality is excellent.
