25 1080p vs 27'' 1440p

Your 1080p monitor @ 23" gives you a 95dpi (dots per inch)...where as the 1440p at 25" provides 117 and 1440p at 27" gives you 108. I personally prefer larger displays, and the dpi will still be an improvement with the 27". Either way, it's going to be a great update.

I returned my VG279QM because it was awful compared to a 1440p monitor on 27". I'll wait for 240 Hz 1440p to become more widespread instead.

Also remember you still get input lag benefits and reduced tearing from 240Hz, even with lower fps. And if you play battle royale games the enhanced clarity for spotting and engaging enemies at distance is much easier on 1440p @ 27".
